MRPL, 16th November 2009 "So close, no matter how far, Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are, And nothing else matters.." This was the mood on 16/11/2009, as a small delegation from Team MRPL representing the Officers and Staff went to the Corporation Office at Lal Bagh, Mangalore.
It has been well over a month when the first distress call reached Team MRPL from Shri Sameer Shukla I A S to come to the rescue of the flood hit brethren.
Much water has flown under the bridge since then...help has poured in from various quarters with MRPL leading the brigade from Mangalore. Rehab work is on and people are being nurtured back to a normal life.
But the magnanimity and compassion of Team MRPL has not been recorded or acknowledged anywhere. One sms on a Sunday evening and Team MRPL, promptly came forward and offered one day's salary. The decision was spontaneous and the employees approached the management, the very next day, with their decision.
So much so that when DC called for a meeting on ......to seek help from Corporates and other agencies in Mangalore, we could proudly declare our Team's generous gesture to our brothers and sisters at far away Uttar kannada, who remain close to our heart nevertheless. It created quite an impact at the meeting and there were murmurs and suggestions that " we must also do this".
On 16th November 2009, Shri Upadhya, GGM Ref i/c handed over two cheques totalling to Rupees eleven lakhs forty three thousand eight hundred and ninety one only to Shri Chandramauli, Sr. Assistant Director of Boilers and to Shri Satish Babu ( representing Dy.Director of Factories) at their office.

There was no fanfare, no publicity, just a meek photography session to preserve the moment. Shri Ramakrishna T, President MSA and Shri D Prabhu, President MRPL Employees Union represented the collectives and Shri Chandermani represented HR. S/Shri Vinay Kumar GM (TS) and Krishna Hegde DGM who liaison with Dy Dir Factories were also present on the occasion.

Team MRPL trusts in our values, in who we are
and believes in walking the talk...
...nothing else matters ...
as Metallica sings...!
Chuenge Hum Aasman !!
