Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a mini ratna ONGC subsidiary has announced its decision to increase the nameplate capacity to 11.82 MMTPA from 9.69 MMTPA considering the successful utilisation of design margins available in the units over a period of 4 years.
MRPL which meets roughly 8% of India's refining capacity has been successfully running the refinery at 115% to 130 % capacity utilisation over the past 4 years.
