CVO appreciates MRPL's achievement

"MRPL has a great history. It has witnessed moments of distress and now it is being touted as a success. Congratulations to all of you!".

These words of appreciation came from Shri Swadeep Singh, IAS, Chief Vigilance Officer, ONGC, who was very much impressed with the performance of MRPL, at a meeting held at the Conference Hall (Admin Building) on April 30, 2008.

Speaking on various aspects related to Vigilance, he underlined the importance of knowledge of CVC guidelines and maintaining records of every work executed.

"Never work on Senior Manager's verbal communication", he said and explained with examples on how every employee need to be cautious while performing duties.

Shri R Rajamani, MD, MRPL also spoke on the occasion. Shri K S Satish, Senior Manager(Production Planning) made a presentation on MRPL and there was also a Q&A session. Shri L K Gupta, Director(Finance), Shri Rajan Bhandari, GM(Vigilance) and other Senior Executives were present on the occasion.

Earlier, Shri Swadeep Singh and Shri N K Mitra visited the plant along with S/Shri P P Upadhya, GGM(TS), R G Chichgar, SrGM(Operations), T V Sujit, SrGM(Maint), K S Koppalkar, GM(I/c), Materials and IS.

MRPL witnessed another colorful evening at the MRPL Club Lawns on April 12, 2008 where MRPLites held their head high with a sense of pride and achievement or rejoicing their colleague's spellbound performance.

The occasion was the Annual Awards Day function for which the MRPL club was decorated like a bride, while spectacular stage and colourful illuminations with lanterns was a befitting honour to the MRPLites who never rested upon past laurels and set new standards for themselves with every passing time.


Shri R S Sharma arrived at the venue at around 6.45 pm and he was warmly welcomed by Shri Lakshminarayan, GGM(Projects) and Smt Lekshmi M Kumaran, DGM(CC), while artistes dressed up in Yakshagana attire and drummers made the arrival of the Chairman of MRPL much more vibrant.


Shri Sharma launched the MRPL Flag on the occasion by hoisting it near the stage and appreciated the design of the Flag which matched MRPL with Panchbootas combined together in "Pursuit of Excellence"

Shri Roshan, Officer, MRPL and Smt Saumya Chandraker, Dy Manager(HR) set the ball rolling in with their compering which won accolades from every quarter.



Shri R Rajamani, our MD, welcomed the gathering and threw light on MRPL's achievements and urged MRPLites to scale greater heights in coming days, as challenges never end.

Shri R S Sharma was in all praise for MRPL saying that the company, close to his heart, always figured in the achievements of ONGC and it's trade deliberations and "MRPL is a pride for ONGC", he added.

"I am impressed once again," he said about the way the Award Function was organised and complemented Shri Lakshminarayan, GGM (Projects) and his team for making the evening most colourful and memorable.


His appreciation for MRPL's performance was not only visible in his words, but he also announced Rs 4,000 as Chairman's Award for employees amidst thunderous applause.

S/Shri R S Sharma, R Rajamani and L K Gupta, Director (Finance) gave away individual and group awards to employees who showed utmost dedication to their duty.

Shri L K Gupta, who proposed vote of thanks, thanked the Chairman for preferring to attend the function against an important meeting with the head of another nation.


Shri Gupta said that it was for MRPL Chairman's efforts and initiatives, the company is continuously creating new milestones in the industry and assured of being a consistent performer even in coming days.

The Award Function also set a new trend of honoring the employees including our MD Shri R Rajamani who served MRPL for more than 15 years.




The function was followed by cultural programme by Shri Shahane Mahendra Suresh and team of MRPL and various dance performances from nearby college students.

S/Shri Sambamurthy, Chairman and Managing Director, Corporation Bank, Shri M A Bhaskarachar, Dy Chairman, NMPT, B C Nayak, IPS, ED-Chief (Security), ONGC and senior executives of MRPL were present on the occasion.


Earlier, Smt Sharma inaugurated Kite Exhibition of Team Mangalore and the glittering function ended with sumptuous dinner.

Recognition and appreciation, which was order of the day, left every MRPLite with a sense of belonging and inspiration to excel.



CRISIL reaffirms "CCR AAA" rating to MRPL

Credit rating agency, CRISIL reaffirmed the
"CCR AAA" rating to Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), the ONGC Group Company and a mini ratna I.

The rating indicates highest degree of strength with regard to honouring debt obligations. The rating will be valid for one year from March 24, 2008.

Shri R Rajamani, our MD, has congratulated everyone responsible for the achievement.

Lowest credit risk and the Highest credit quality : ICRA reaffirms Ir AAA & A1+ ratings of MRPL

Credit rating agency, ICRA reaffirmed the Issuer Rating of 'Ir AAA' assigned to Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL), the ONGC Group Company and a mini ratna I, certifying that MRPL carries lowest credit risk.

ICRA has also reaffirmed the 'A1+' rating, indicating highest credit quality to MRPL.

The ratings reflect the majority ownership of ONGC (rated LAAA with a Stable Outlook, by ICRA), and the company`s strong operational & financial performance over the last few years. The ratings are also supported by the favourable outlook on the international refining margins in the medium term and high financial flexibility enjoyed by MRPL.
