MRPL bags NSC Award

MRPL received “UnnathaSurakshaPuraskara” from National Safety Council (NSC), Karnataka Chapter on 9th September 2019 at, Bengaluru. MRPL has been recognised for its inbuilt Safety systems, Training and Awareness for Stakeholders on Safety.

The award was received by Shri Sanjay Varma, GGM I/c Refinery, Shri U V Aithal,CGM – HSE & ISO and Shri Sudhendhu K V, President –MEU.This was the moment of celebration for the team effort of MRPL employees which ensured MRPL to be recognised for the coveted trophy.

The Safety awareness and systems are utmost priority for a Major Accident Hazard (MAH) installation like MRPL which is one of the biggest MAH installations in Karnataka. This in time recognition from NSC, Karnataka chapter shall go a long way in MRPL efforts to be a safe work place in rendering service to the nation supplying cleaner fuels.

Special MSME Vendors’ Meet for SC, ST and Women Entrepreneurs

A Special MSME Vendors’ Development Programme was organised by MRPL in Mangaluru on 28.08.2019 in association with MSME – Development Institute, Mangaluru, District Industries Centre (DIC)- Mangaluru, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DICCI) and Republican Chamber of India (RCI). The Meet was primarily focussed at disseminating awareness about the various MSME support measures for increasing participation of SC, ST and Women Entrepreneurs in MRPL procurements.

 

The Meet was inaugurated by Sri M. Vinayakumar, Director (Refinery) in presence of Sri Pankaj Agarwal, Group General Manager (Materials), Sri K. Socrates, Dy. Director, MSME-DI and Sri Manoj Gowtham, President, Republican Chamber of India. In his Inaugural address, Sri Vinayakumar acknowledged the contribution of MSME sector to our National economy and called for increased utilisation of various Purchase preferences mandated by the Government and implemented successfully by MRPL in its procurement process.

Mr. K.Socrates, Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Mangaluruspoke on the occasion andhighlighted the assistance provided by MSME –Development Institute for the benefit of the Entrepreneurs. He also called for increased awareness among the Entrepreneurs about public procurement procedures and preferences available to Micro and Small Enterprises.

Mr. Manoj Gowtham, President, Republican Chamber of India, thanked MRPL for organising the Meet and encouraging the Entrepreneurs. He expressed confidence that the initiatives will see increased participation of SC, ST Entrepreneurs in MRPL tenders, leading to the growth and prosperity of their Enterprises..

Mr.Keshava Kumar, GM (Materials) presented an overview of MRPL’s performance and procurement plan, details about the preferences available to Micro and Small Enterprises. Mr.Sampath Rai, Manager (Materials) in his presentation, explained the processes of Vendor Registration, Electronic Procurement System and accessing published Tenders.

Mr.Shailendra Kumar Tiwari, Engineer (Materials) presented on the details of Tendering process and bid submissions through EPS portal. Then followed the interactive session in which the queries raised by the participants were answered by the concerned officials of MRPL. Mr. Suresh K Rao, CGM (Materials) delivered the Welcome address. Mr.Keshava Kumar, GM (Materials) proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Charan Singh, Senior Manager (Materials) compered the programme.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MRPL wins Dun & Bradstreet PSU Award

Dun & Bradstreet conferred MRPL the award for being the Best Miniratna in Manufacturing, Processing and Generation category. The award was presented by Shri. Arvind Sawant, Hon'ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, in the presence of Shri Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary, Ministry of Power. The award was received on behalf of MRPL by Shri Vijay K Bhatnagar, GGM (Impex) – Head ITD & Shipping at a grand ceremony on Thursday, 22nd August 2019 at Taj Palace, New Delhi.

‘Balle Patherga’ wins SCOPE CC Excellence Award

SCOPE – Standing Committee of Public Enterprises conferred MRPL the 2nd prize for ‘Best In-house Journal - English’ for the year 2018-19 in their CC Excellence Awards 2019. Dr Amit Vyas, DGM – IMPEX received the award on behalf of MRPL in the glittering ceremony at SCOPE Complex, New Delhi on 3rd August 2019.

The Award was presented by Dr BP Singh, IAS, Former Governor Sikkim & Former Home Secretary, GoI. REC Ltd bagged the first prize and HPCL got the third prize in the Best In-house Journal competition.

SCOPE invited the PSU companies to participate in various categories of Corporate Communication functions. Total 183 entries from 57 Public Sector Companies underwent the evaluation process at SCOPE.

The evaluation process at SCOPE involved the experts & professionals form Media, Academic & Professional Institutions like Bureau of Outreach & Commendation(BOC), DAVP, GoI and Indian Institute of Mass Communication. The final Jury was headed by Shri Bimal Shukla, IAS, Information Commissioner and Former Secretary I & B, Govt. of India besides other eminent members.

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) is the apex body of Central Government owned Public Enterprises. It has been advocating concerns and issues of the PSEs and is engaged in an ongoing dialogue with the government in order to have conducive public sector policy framework. Its activities are aimed at strengthening the PSEs by making them more efficient and effective and at the same time encouraging them to explore new horizons in the global market.

It is a proud moment to all of us in MRPL as we have been enhancing quality of our E-Magazine with the useful contribution from many of our enthusiastic employees and their dependents. Since its inception our E-Magazine has been able to explore new talents and get the recognition for our in-house writers and artistes.
