Artificial Limb Camp in MRPL

MRPL has been organising a Life enabling initiative titled ‘Free Artificial Limb Camp (Jaipur Foots)’ under CSR Samrakshan, every year for the last 15 years. This has benefitted the people who have lost their limb/limbs due to unfortunate circumstances and around 50 to 60 amputees avail the benefit from this camp every year.

 

This year, the 16th Artificial Limb Camp was organised from 23rd to 25th March 2017 at DPS School, MRPL premises. This year the camp was financially supported by ONGC and M/s Vikalang Sahayatha Samithi, Mumbi was the agency employed for organizing Artificial Limb Camp. 71 beneficiaries of the age group ranging from 1½ to 65 years belonging to Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts availed the benefit of the camp.

Artificial limbs, caliper, hands were provided to the beneficiaries. Total cost of the project was Rs 3.50 lakhs.

 

 

 

MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra starts training candidates in skill development with NTTF

MRPL’s Kaushal Vikas Kendra, which was launched in the month of February 2017 has commenced training candidates with the rope-in program for the first batch of selected candidates at MRPL Employees Club on 20.03.2017. Shri H Kumar, Managing Director, MRPL inaugurated the training program in the presence of Shri M Venkatesh, Director Refinery, Shri Jayananda, President of Chelairu Grama Panchayat and Smt Kasturi Dayananda, President of Soorinje Grama Panchayat and other dignitaries.

 

60 nos. of candidates will be trained in the first batch of MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra in partnership with NTTF in two trades namely, Industrial Electrician and CNC Operator-Turning. The candidates have been selected from the neighbouring areas and villages around MRPL. All expenses including food, lodging, tutorial expenses, clothing in the form of uniform, will be borne by MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra. The first 13 days rope-in program is arranged at MRPL Employees club and the remaining three and a half month’s training program will be held at NTTF, Bangalore.

37th PSPB Inter Unit Carrom Tournament

37th PSPB Inter Unit Carrom Tournament was in MRPL Employees Club from 28 February to 4th March 2017. The players of International repute representing various oil companies participated in the programme.

 

Mr K Ramesh Babu from IOCL won in Men’s singles, Mr Sandeep Deorukhar from ONGC was the first Runner-up and Mr K Srinivas from IOCL was the 2nd Runner-up.

Ms Rashmi Kumari from ONGC won women’s singles. Ms Parimala devi from IOCL was the first Runner-up and Khushbhu Kumari from ONGC was the 2nd Runner-up.

A Team of Mr Yogesh Pardesh and Mr K Ramesh Babu of IOCL won Men’s doubles event. Ms Rashmi Kumari and Ms Ilavazhaki of ONGC won Women’s doubles event.

IOCL won both Men’s & Women’s team events and ONGC was the Runnerup in both the team categories.

The Valedictory Ceremony was held in MRPL Employees Club at 2.00 pm on 4.3.2017. Shri AK Sahoo, Director Finance, Shri KS Koppalkar, GGM I/c Refinery and Smt. Vanita Kumar, GGM – OMC Sales honoured the winners of the tournament.

Shri S Udaya Kumar, International Referee presented the technical report of the tournament in which he conveyed that there were total of 56 players participated in 233 matches in 4 days. He further conveyed that there were total of 17 Slams (pocketing all the coins in a very first attempt), with Mr Ramesh Babu and MR K Srinivas of (both IOCL) doing it 6 & 5 times respectively. The awards mentioned below were also presented during the programme.

Inauguration of 37th PSPB Inter Unit Carrom Tournament

37th PSPB Inter Unit Carrom Tournament was inaugurated by Shri H Kumar, our Managing Director in the presence of Shri AK Sahoo, Director Finance, Shri Koppalkar KS, GGM I/C Refinery, Smt Vanita Kumar, GGM – OMC Sales, Shri BHV Prasad, GM I/C HR, Shri Tejwani, Joint Secretary – PSPB, Shri Uday Kumar, International Referee, Shri TM Pai, DGM I/C Admin and Shri Ajay Bhatia, DGM– HR & Admin in MRPL Employees Club at 09.00 am today, 28-02-2017.

 

The players and officials from different public sector oil companies and MRPL employees were present on the occasion. Reputed players like Mr Yogesh Pradeshi, Ms Kajal Kumari, Ms Jayashree, Ms Sneha More - Former World Champions and Ms Parimala Devi – Former National & SAARC Champion & Mohammed Gufran – International Player, are representing IOCL. Ms. Rashmi Kumari & Ms Ilavazhaki, Former World Champions and Mr Sandeep Deorukhkar, Former Asian and National Champion belonged to ONGC team. Further, Mr PS Adarkar from HPCL are some noteworthy names among the participants in this tournament.

Shri BHV Prasad, GM (I/C-HR), formally welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. Shri H Kumar, Managing Director spoke on the occasion and said that there are many things in common while playing a game and while performing our job. These are team spirit, handling critical situation etc and that is the reason why sports is given due importance in this sector, felt our MD. MD also declared the 37th PSPB tournament open.

Ms Rashmi Kumari from ONGC administered the oath to the players. Mr Murali Krishna Baddi, Sr Manager – Inst. Maint. introduced the players to the dignitaries. Shri Ajay Bhatia, DGM – HR & Admin proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Akshatha, Jr Offr – Finance chanted the initial prayer and Ms Pavithra, Jr Offr – Finance, compered the programme.
