Apart from the manufacturing facilities the following infrastructure is available in MRPL

 

Fresh water from built-up weir at Nethravathi river about 43 Kms away from the Refinery.

All weather port at Mangalore. Draft (14M) fully laden ships with 245 M length. Plans to increase draft to 15.5 M

Refinery has laid Crude and product lines up to New Mangalore Port ( about 11 Kms )

 

  • 6 automatic loading / unloading arms in each of the 2 Jetties.
  • Facilities to export all products.
  • On-line Data Acquisition from port through Optical Fibre Cable System.

Automatic tank gauging system

SPM (Single Point Mooring - Mangala 1) :
The SPM is designed to handle VLCC tankers, which carries crude up to 300,000MT of crude, thereby reducing crude oil landing cost. SPM will enable MRPL to increase crude throughput to 18MMTPA by decongesting existing jetties. The facility is also designed to take care of crude oilrequirement of strategic crude storage facility by M/S ISPRL.
