A Special MSME Vendors’ Development Programme was organised by MRPL in Mangaluru on 28.08.2019 in association with MSME – Development Institute, Mangaluru, District Industries Centre (DIC)- Mangaluru, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DICCI) and Republican Chamber of India (RCI). The Meet was primarily focussed at disseminating awareness about the various MSME support measures for increasing participation of SC, ST and Women Entrepreneurs in MRPL procurements.

 

 

The Meet was inaugurated by Sri M. Vinayakumar, Director (Refinery) in presence of Sri Pankaj Agarwal, Group General Manager (Materials), Sri K. Socrates, Dy. Director, MSME-DI and Sri Manoj Gowtham, President, Republican Chamber of India. In his Inaugural address, Sri Vinayakumar acknowledged the contribution of MSME sector to our National economy and called for increased utilisation of various Purchase preferences mandated by the Government and implemented successfully by MRPL in its procurement process.

 

Mr. K.Socrates, Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Mangaluruspoke on the occasion andhighlighted the assistance provided by MSME –Development Institute for the benefit of the Entrepreneurs. He also called for increased awareness among the Entrepreneurs about public procurement procedures and preferences available to Micro and Small Enterprises.

Mr. Manoj Gowtham, President, Republican Chamber of India, thanked MRPL for organising the Meet and encouraging the Entrepreneurs. He expressed confidence that the initiatives will see increased participation of SC, ST Entrepreneurs in MRPL tenders, leading to the growth and prosperity of their Enterprises..

Mr.Keshava Kumar, GM (Materials) presented an overview of MRPL’s performance and procurement plan, details about the preferences available to Micro and Small Enterprises. Mr.Sampath Rai, Manager (Materials) in his presentation, explained the processes of Vendor Registration, Electronic Procurement System and accessing published Tenders.

Mr.Shailendra Kumar Tiwari, Engineer (Materials) presented on the details of Tendering process and bid submissions through EPS portal. Then followed the interactive session in which the queries raised by the participants were answered by the concerned officials of MRPL. Mr. Suresh K Rao, CGM (Materials) delivered the Welcome address. Mr.Keshava Kumar, GM (Materials) proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Charan Singh, Senior Manager (Materials) compered the programme.
