MRPL organises Cyclothon at Mangalore

As a part of Oil and Gas Conservation month program - Saksham, Cyclothon, a cycle rally was organized at Mangalore on 17.12.2017. MRPL organised this cycle rally in association with Mangalore Bicycle Club and Bharat Scouts & Guides. The cycle rally was flagged off by Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Hon’ble MP, D.K.District and Shri J.R.Lobo, Hon’ble MLA Mangaluru South in the presence of Shri BHV Prasad, GGM- HR. Employees, Students and cycling enthusiasts participated in large numbers in the rally which traversed across the heart of the city.

 

The cycle rally was part of a nationwide campaign being taken up by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), a body under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India. The campaign for creating awareness about the conservation of fuels, reducing wastage of petroleum products and promoting cycling is being taken up by PCRA in association with public sector oil companies. The campaign contains two components – educational campaign through various media and on-ground events like cycle rally. The cycle rally has been planned to be carried out in 77 cities across the country over a period of four months and at Mangalore, MRPL has been nominated.
